My 3 and 5 yr olds love Mr. squiggles! They make cute hamster noises with the unexpected "fun" noises that always provide a giggle!



The items are very hard to find in our area, so I don't mind paying the markup prices. It is supply and demand IMO. [...]. I am tired of being on hold with the "big retailers" for more than 10 or 15 minutes only to have the workers not look for the item or just to laugh at you when you ask about these toys. Many of our local stores havent received any in stock for weeks now and don't expect to get them anytime soon.



All in all, my girls love 'em! Cute hamster fun w/o the mess of real ones!

We bought two of these toys through Amazon. Both came from different sellers. One worked for about 20 minutes. The other one never moved at all. They make noises, but GO Nowhere. I got up early and was able to get Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters at WalMart. So glad because I know they are selling out stores because I've been calling everywhere.



Anyway, my kids have been playing with them all day. And then hair got wrapped around the little wheel and I thought one had broke so I spent forever trying to get the hair off -- but that's not what was making an additional squealing noise and making the wheels stop turning.



The little Zhu Zhu pets hamsters just needed new batteries. They came with 2 AAA batteries from the manufacturer -- and I'm sure they weren't in the store that long so that little hands could've worn out the batteries thru the "try me" window.



They must've just come with batteries not as good as the ones I changed them into. Because I just popped in some Duracel or whatever batteries -- and now the Zhu Zhu Pets run even faster than when we first bought them this morning.



My children are playing with them as I write.



Now we want all the Zhu Zhu pets in the collection -- and the accessories. Maybe by Christmas or before...

If you don't have to have it now feel free to shop store to store to store to store until you can find it. If you can afford it, Amazon will have it!!! This little hamster has brought us loads of fun!! The accessories make it even better. Have extra AA Batteries on hand because this only comes with demo batteries, so you might even have to change the batteries before you play with it for the first time. Our favorite accessory so far is the adventure ball. You can bet this is going to the be the #1 Hot Toy for 2009!

Be careful who you are buying from. Realize that Amazon isn't the one charging these prices. It is the sellers. Definitely do your homework because in some cases the sellers are charging 3xs the retail value for these toys simply because they are popular. I personally do not think Amazon should allow such sellers because it does turn people off to this site and if they are legit sellers they really do not need to be taking advantage of people.



Great toy. Wait it out and you'll get one for ten dollars or less.

I brought the hamsters at TrU for $[...] each. The toys are cute but only worth the original retail price. The prices charged by the third party re-sellers are heavily marked up. The manufacturer gets no benefit from this situation as it causes bad will against the company and the product. Ditto for Amazon. I bet that the manufacturer is ramping up production as fast as possible and that these will be in stock in huge numbers pretty soon and those who brought out the first inventory will be forced to reduce their prices for the toys they still have. Such is the law of supply and demand. These will certainly be available before Christmas.

Ok I admit I spoil my kids! When they see these ZHU ZHU PETS on TV, they of course want them and I cave and off we go looking LITERALLY ALL OVER TOWN TRYING TO FIND THEM! We must have went to 8-10 stores and have YET TO FIND AN ACTUAL ZHU ZHU PET HAMSTER! Most stores don't even have an empty rack as they must not be carrying them yet! And three of the stores were Toyrus and each one said they can't keep them on the shelves.



Six Hours Later, We did finally find one lone ADVENTURE BALL for which we now have with no Zhu Zhu pet yet! But we did try it out with the neighbors Zhu Zhu Hamster and it is Hilarious as it acts like a Real Hamster in The Adventure Ball. So as I always do whether it's Bakugan, Littlest Pet Shop, Star Wars, Barbie, and now Zhu Zhu Pets I end up WASTING TONS of TIME and GAS MONEY trying to find them at Multiple Stores when I should have Just Paid A Little Extra and Had them Shipped Right To my Door by Buying them off Amazon...Oh well, Live and Learn I Guess!

This is the base toy for all of the Zhu Zhu or Go Go pets sets... It is the hamsters house.. They know what room they are in and act accordingly.. Brush teeth in the bathroom and sleep in bed.. This set has kept my children entertained for hours!!! It has gotten me out of having to buy a real Hamster and when they don't feel like playing with it - they don't have to or feel neglectful. My daughter has been saving her allowance for the last few weeks hoping to find these and today we stumbled across them at TRU for retail price. For the $10 price tag she's been very entertained this afternoon. The creature makes a variety of chirping, beeping, and random noises as it whirls around. It works much better on a tile, vinyl, or hardwood surface than on carpet. You can either have it in a cuddle type mode where you press its head and it chitters at you or press the back and it'll run around randomly. It's a sweet toy although noisier than I expected. The store clerk said that production is supposed to meet demand in a few weeks as Christmas draws closer. For $10 we're happy, but I'm not sure it's worth 2 or 3 times as much as it is a rather simple toy.

What cost me $179.00 for some Zhu Zhu pets/accessories and shipping would have cost about $30.00 had I waited for Wal-Mart to stock them. I've always been pleased with what I've purchased from Amazon, but this was a MAJOR disappointment. The toys are great. My daughter loves them. But they were totally overpriced.
